Prof. Dara Entekhabi is professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and at the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. He is also the Science Team Leader of the NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Satellite Mission.

His short course will present the theory, the applications and examples of real-world use of joint passive and active microwave sensing for environmental monitoring and modelling. The short course is part of the Radar Remote Sensing course taught by prof. Fabio Dell'Acqua, and is also credited for PhD students.
